Inaba no Shiro Usagi 因幡の白兎 ”A white rabbit of Inaba”
This is a Japanese old story, kind of a myth.—————
I’ve lived alone in Oki island for a long time, but I decided I wanted to cross over the sea to see my old friends living on the opposite shore, that is called Inaba-no-kuni, where I once used to live with my family.
At first, I had no idea how I was able to cross the sea.
At that time, a shark happened to pass by and then I hit upon a good idea.
I talked to the shark, “Hey, it seems that you have a lot of peers. So do I. Which do you think have more peers, you or me? Why don’t we count the number of each peers and make a comparison? “
The shark answered, ” That’s interesting. I’m sure we’ll win.”
So I said to the shark, ” Okay, then you and your peers make a line together from this shore to that shore. I’ll count the total number of you.”
All the sharks gathered and made a line forming a shark-bridge.
So I went over the bridge while laughing at the back of my mind.
When I came to the end of the bridge, I couldn’t help myself and blurted out the truth with joy.
I said to the sharks, “Yahoo! You are so good-natured fool sharks! I just wanted to cross the sea! “
Hearing that, the sharks terribly got angry and then they caught me to pluck. That is why I am horribly scraped like this.——————-
